    grasshoppers

Started cutting hay today and can't be live the amount of grasshoppers, just black in places and thick as hell everywhere. We have been cool and wet so how did they get this thick, we have over 9 in rain this spring, but if the forecast of 30+ degree days the pastures will look sick pretty soon, and the second cut won't have a chance, Good thing I still have most of last yrs hay. This is nw of Edmonton.

I was walking in deep grass two days ago and I was shocked at the number I saw there. They haven't moved into the fields yet but the lentils won't take much to be a problem.
