Ezra Levant is a clairvoyant?

Apparently so as he purchased the domain name "Freelauradotcom" four hours before his "reporter" Laura Loomer stormed the stage at a Shakespeare production in a NY park in their latest stunt. She got herself arrested for trespassing and disturbing the peace. Another fund raising opportunity for the operator of this fake news organisation.

I respect Ezra. I support Ezra. I send money to Ezra.

Ezra doesn't kill people who don't support him. Pars

Ezra Levant keeps shooting himself in the foot, again and again
John Gordon Miller
January 7, 2017
Media Matters

Ezra Levant is to Canadian political dialogue what The Iron Sheik and Abdullah the Butcher once were to big-time wrestling.

A cartoon figure.

A hateful blowhard.

At least with big-time wrestling, you got the entertainment.

With Levant, what you get are hate, lies, manipulated arguments, ill-advised stunts and his unshackled ego, none of which are entertaining, and much of which is just cruel and ill-informed.

He's a self-styled troublemaker who always seems to find himself in trouble.

The latest: He's being sued for libel by an organization called Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME). It runs campaigns encouraging the boycotting of goods from Israel to protest that state's treatment of Palestinians. The late Liberal MP Warren Allmand served on its board.

Levant used his blog on Rebel Media to compare the group to Nazis and said it was abusing its charitable status to spread anti-Semitic propaganda. He urged his followers to sign a petition (entitled "tax dollars subsidize Jew hatred in Canada") urging the federal government to revoke the group's status as a charity and contribute to a fund that would allow Levant to hire a human rights lawyer to go after it.

Aside from the damaging opinion -- which Levant can probably try to defend by saying it's freedom of expression -- he overplayed his hand and made statements of fact about the group that he cannot possibly justify.

Why? Well, for starters, because CJPME is not and never has been a charity.

It's seeking $100,000 in damages and $20,000 for punitive or exemplary damages, and says Levant must be confusing it with a separate foundation that has no role in its political campaign in support of Palestinian rights.

It's not the first time the Rebel Commander has been found to be reckless with facts. He seems to have made a career of it.

He's lost two expensive libel cases, one last year in which Judge Wendy Matheson of Ontario Superior Court ruled there is "ample evidence before me demonstrating express malice," especially the fact Levant "did little or no fact-checking regarding the posts complained of, either before or after their publication." She found that his "dominant motive in these blog posts was ill will, and that his repeated failure to take even basic steps to check his facts showed a reckless disregard for the truth." Levant was ordered to pay a lawyer $80,000 in damages plus $70,000 in costs. He appealed, lost, and was just assessed another $15,000 in costs.

That's the case in which his lawyer, Iain MacKinnon, mounted an amazing defence. He argued that Levant's readers would know not to take what he writes "at face value" and that he has a "penchant to stir controversy and make outlandish comments at times."

Oh, that is true enough, although it didn't help him in that case.

In another defamation case he lost in 2011, Justice Robert Smith of Ontario Superior Court ruled that Levant "spoke in reckless disregard of the truth and for an ulterior purpose of denormalizing the Human Rights Commission across Canada which makes his statements malicious in that sense." In that one, he had to pay a human rights lawyer $57,000.

Levant has raised the Nazi card before too. In 2010, he wrote a column for Sun Media accusing international financier George Soros of a childhood collaboration with the Nazis. Soros threatened to sue and Sun Media had to issue a retraction and apology.

Two years later, Sun Media had to retract and apologize to the Romani people after Levant broadcast a commentary that he titled "The Jew vs. the Gypsies." Levant opined that Romanis were a group of criminals: "These are gypsies, a culture synonymous with swindlers. The phrase gypsy and cheater have been so interchangeable historically that the word has entered the English language as a verb: he gypped me. Gypsies are not a race. They’re a shiftless group of hobos. They rob people blind. Their chief economy is theft and begging."

That reckless diatribe prompted a remarkable op-ed piece in the National Post co-authored by Bernie Farber, former CEO of the Canadian Jewish Congress, and Holocaust survivor Nate Leipciger. They condemned Levant's commentary as a "contemptible screed" and argued that "the time has come for all of us to reject hate and bigotry -- against any group."

Levant apologized for his remarks, stating that he hoped they "will serve as an example of what not to do when commenting on social issues."

But he keeps on doing it. He can't help himself, much like The Iron Sheik always kept going back to the eye gouge.

That's one reason Ezra Levant's career as a commentator has cratered from national television star to tabloid columnist to low-rent self-published blogger. I'd say he deserves his fate, wallowing at the bottom of the commentary barrel among the fellow travellers of right-wing gripe sites like Small Dead Animals and Blazing Cat Fur.

People who are read by almost no one and whose arguments fall apart by the seams.

Ezra is just an annoying media hound wannabe. All ego and one sided bigotry. You can tell how much influence Ezra has in the CPC by Kellie Leitch's campaign results. Not much support except amongst the alt right extremists. I would rather listen to David Frum (former George Bush speech writer) who at least can get his facts straight and carry an argument without being so annoying.

Ezra may lean a little to the right but his commentaries are thought provoking which is something more canadian should start doing. At least it's not all about rainbows and sunshine in the land of unicorns as trudope would have us believe we live in.

Slants are always predictable, to those who do not lean that way, they can be very vexatious, I get your point Chuck
Chuck, not surprising to note that some do share your aggravation equally & even so forceful, but directed at media who are even in the grandeur of our 150th year of Confederation, supported by tax dollars.

Ezra Levant is one of the most annoying media people out there. The media portrayals of him often show him with his big mouth wide open. But he knows it and even plays it up, like the time when he did a clip wherein he said, "It's true, I had surgery to make my mouth bigger!" LOL!!

So, add his grating personality and lack of fear to the fact that he is so often right, and it's not hard to understand what makes him a real thorn for so many.

Like Catherine Porter, formerly of the Toronto Star, when she foolishly set out to "instruct" him but instead he exposed her for the lying sack of refuse that she is. The Star went into damage control for the fake news they published, and issued a retraction for the falsehoods she published on their pages and eventually, sweet Catherine no longer works there. See this:

You will find a few follow up reports in the side bar.

But when you're right, you're right, and that why his media brand is attracting so many in a time when the MSM is crying for government subsidies, attracting even people like grassy and chucky and forage who apparently can't overcome their fascination with Ezra Levant.

Don't worry grassy, it's a testament to your inherent sense of value. Where else can you get the real story for 8 or 9 bucks a month, LOL?

Just to be clear, the Toronto Star DID publish Ezra's rebuttal which showed that their reporter published falsehoods about an adversary:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFWxSsAPpuU

Catherine Porter was not immediately fired, but her eventual departure wasn't altogether unexpected in light of her obvious and openly exposed unethical behavior.

Behavior, it turns out which has been since then repeated by other Star "reporters", people whom grassy, chucky and forage would doubtlessly hold up as examples of "solid journalists", LOLLLZ!

Why even worry about him. He's annoying as hell but his questioning of bullshit is bang on. We shud be worrying about things like our government giving our money away when our infrustructure is crumbling. Hundred mil to study people who don't know if they're a guy or girl. Come on already. Figure that out on your own dime. Not ours. Just pathetic already. When are things that matter gonna be important again.

JUST FOR YOU, GRASSFARMER, Ezra Levant demonstrates in his final clip about Porter why his type of journalism is growing and the MSM is trying to survive in a shrinking base.

People with discernment will look elsewhere for the whole story. The Catherine Porters, the Desmond Coles, the Leah McLarens (G&M) - they have destroyed the credibility of the institutions we once trusted. And the Kathy English types - well, how long can they keep on trying to cover the tracks of the miscreants who "work" for them?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzVx_AQ6_oc

So, thank you to grassfarmer for bringing this to our attention! You likely increased the readership and revenues of the Rebel once again! Ezra would appreciate that, I'm sure! LOL!

Chuck chuck, do you really believe Mr. Whatchamacallems when he pisses on your leg and tells you Ezra is washed up? :

"who are read by almost no one and whose arguments fall apart by the seams".

"Almost no one" ??

Wow.

Look at u-tube stats:

Ezra Levant's video subscribers as of today: 802,672
CBC's video subscribers as of today:122,200
Toronto Star video subscribers as of today: 7,691

1 corporation

Toronto Star hires haters to write opinion pieces; who's obscure value lies in lining cat-piddlepans. TS pays with declining readers....

You know chuck, that Ezra is a force to reckon with. Happening stuff. As are his supporters. We've been there. Done this. And we know how to take down a Govt run corporation...

Get up to speed, chuck chuck, or you inevitably get dumped off into Margaret's Boy's "um um um" world every Friday, where the smoke, the hot air and the lies rise high into the chambers of emboldened secrecy.

How laughable your attempts to prop up this clown are. He failed at Sun News, not enough interest from the population in a "Fox North" to enable them to run a business so now operating in a shady corner of the internet catering to a declining number of wingnut followers. Toronto Star has a print readership of over a million with another million reading online every day. Not enough Alt-Right supporters to keep Sun News going but that maybe reflects on their literacy skills? Disney has millions of youtube subscribers - doesn't make them a credible news outlet though.
Levant's output is increasingly nothing to do with news it's more "entertainment". Sending "reporters" to rallies and events pulling stunts to create incidents that need police and court intervention to resolve in a desperate attempt to bring in revenue from the online fundraising to free the poor "victimized" Rebel staff and organisation.
Rather like the TV evangelists of 1980 and 1990s America that implored viewers to "praise the Lord and send me the money" Levant is increasingly pursuing a "hate the Muslims and send me the money" agenda. It's not even limited to Muslims though given the anti-semitic rants of his staffers recently. What it's really about is sending him the money. I wonder how much of the funds raised really go towards his mansion building and unpaid mortgage problems?
Can't believe some of you are actually funding this. I guess the old saying "fools and their money...."
So how does the $8 or $9 a month compare to your subscription to National Enquirer burnt? About the same chance of reading any real news as anything Levant puts out.
