Guess the thing to keep in back of your mind eu and black sea russia still have a big crop despite downgradings. Aust in a bit of trouble but not trainwreck yet. How much more bad news can be factored in to feed the bulls

When analyzing the wheat market analysts tend to view it in isolation. However foodstuffs are said to be elastic item meaning substitutions by the consumer are often made due to price. The broad index of real world food stuffs has soared 14% in two months. Tensions are ramping up btw Russia and the USA in Syria, the middle class is dying, gluten free craze is fading. All bullish macro factors imho.

If anyone thinks that wheat prices have moved up too much,,,,take 15 seconds and look at a monthly chart for HRSW on the MGE.

Earlier seeded wheat around here looks great, lush and disease free so far.
Some lower and high water table land not so good but only ten per cent or so of area.
Think it is good business to start locking in profitable prices.

was eading somewere this week a strategy could be trade the spread sell minny wheat and buy Chicago and gap will narrow.

well that would have failed spectacularly this week......guess its all in the timing.

on aussie situation its perilous in many areas but weather forecasters models and private weather forecasters all suggesting things are about to change for the better big time seemingly Australia wide

ps in our spot we are doing fine

                      Wheat went up again today.

Seems to be on a gradual incline.....weather forecasts are showing temperatures in the 90's for the 4th of July in North Dakota.
