Crops looking excellent here, but evenually will need a rain. Havent seen more than 1" since end of april. Drought developing in w. ND. Likely spreading into s. Prairies?

Yesterday was just like walking into a furnace. The plus 34 was bad enough but the wind sure sucked the moisture out of the ground. That day brings back memories of 1988,which I hope is not being a repeat this year. Crop not ready for weed spraying yet so have time to decide on how much we will spend. Had a little rain over night but not much to make much of a difference, time will tell.

Bring on the thunderstorms for Manitoba. We're at the stage we need an inch a week for the next 3 months to maximize production. Grass has been good up to now but much of it is heading out. Only had a little over an inch in the last 3 months. Seeded corn into moisture and warm soil this week but it'll need rain to make a crop too.
