    Alot of times it seems counterproductive to be a better farmer. The better and more efficient producers get, the more they grow, and the more supply problems, and lower prices we have. If the past years are any indication, we are overproducing (if you want to believe the low prices). What to do? Back to half and half?

      Henbent good to hear from you, are you still hugging the CWB and dewelling in your solialistic chicken house. I haven't had a good arguement since last winter when we conversed on these threads.

      Hen have you seen the Alberta gov. survey on markerting choice. I bet that curled your "we'll all go broke together single desk selling attitude.

      Lets remove ourselves from the CWB choke hold and enter the greedy world of corportations who only want to make your world better through choices of betterment. It might give you a chance to risk manage your little spread to unknown before profits.

      Even Chairman Ken Ritter of the CWB stated "They must be expected to go head to head with meaningful competitors who will force them to continuously strive for the lowest cost structure and the best service in an open and fair marketplace. The federal government's refusal to adopt effective rights is unacceptable."

      Sounds like and odd statement coming from the Chairman of the CWB Monopoly which is dead against rights or competition for selling grain. His speech was made in effort to get the govenment to allow joint running rights for any rail companies who might want to use the rails to move grain. He's starting to make different rules for different folks to suit his situation. His statement actually is ridicuous to his own ideals. Sounds like a pot calling the kettle black.

        Byfield sure has it right on this one!
        Klein sometimes seems to forget that he is working for us and doesn't need to be the darling of Ottawa.
        If he persists in catering to the east he risks an uprising in the ranks! For the first time in decades Alberta is ripe for a change in government. Unfortunately the other two parties are a complete joke and more than eager to give the whole province away! We desperately need a new party that will start the process of getting us out of here!

            Henbent;

            Interesting how no actual fert. prices have been listed on this thread... it sure must be top secret!

            I don't think the guy with no handle actually did it on purpose... didn't think the Agri-ville system allowed it!

              TOM4CWB, I guess what we are saying, is that, it is a given, good crop year or high commodity prices = high fertilizer prices next season.

                Henbent my boy you never disappoint me. Oh! what's a lily livered FORKER or was I suspose to read something into the missed spelling possibility.

                Didn't grow any barley this year or for the last 6 years for that matter dosen't make money. It will not gross over $250/ acre on any consistant basis so it has no place in the rotation on my farm. Select or not.

                I'am getting tried of supporting you my friend and huge changes are coming with the way the CWB is operated due to their marketing ability and it is coming real soon. You heard it here first.

                Henbent the time for me supporting you has come to an end. But I'am sending you out on your own as a result of the tough love I have for you. I really hope you can make it on your own.

                God this is fun isn't it. But remember you heard it here first. The new dawn of marketing wheat and barley will be upon us real soon.

                God I hope my handle remains a secret like the CWB marketing of my wheat does.

                  03 NOV 12 22:04 Listen pal, windbags like you are a dime a dozen. Big changes have already occurred in the grain industry, if you haven't noticed. The changes have not all been good either, if you haven't noticed. Don't hold your breath, waiting for the demise of the CWB, because cooler heads have prevailed in the past and will do so again! If you are counting on Ralph to lead you out of the wilderness, lets all hope that he starts drinking again. He made more sense and was more fun during the good ol days.

                    This started out as a good discussion on fertilizer and yet again, as so many of these threads, spirals down to a select few who overtake the discussion insulting each other on CWB positions. I am sure that myself and many others are simply tired of it so please keep the discussion on topic and utilize new threads for those discussions.

                    Further up was a question on fert prices, $375 for urea and $395 for phosphate - North eastern AB. Bin stored and banded only.

                      WD9;

                      Numerous deals have been made at over 5% under your quoted prices... watch it, most will deny the lower prices are avaliable!
