    Change in Weather is Coming!

Yes so far this spring except for the foot of wet snow couple weeks ago. The ground has firmed and the drills are going all over the place.
Plant 17 is on in our area and every one is going strong.

Drew just sent out the long term weather patterns and it looks like the wet zone is coming back. Maybe not as bad as other years but definitely storms will come from Assinaboia to Yorkton and then back down to ontario.

So we might get it seeded but some areas could drown out again.

The north will now get dryer from peace all way to PA and hudson bay.

Good luck to all who still have to start seeding and finish harvesting the change started in yesterdays weather and it will continue.

    Its getting late.
How late can you seed wheat? May 25?
How late can you plant canola? June 1? If some crops freeze tonight will reseeding make that crop even later? How late do you seed before you are labelled as a crop insurance farmer by your neighbors?

crop ins here says June 7 for wheat , I sure wouldn't wanna seed it that late. nobody would label you farming for crop ins here because there is zero done and won't be for a week

Hobby, even though I'm not in crop insurance, aren't those dates about 3 weeks ahead of the regular deadlines?

Anyone could hardly be considered a crop insurance farmer if everyone is seeding 2,3 to 4 weeks later than normal in your area.... if everyone else is done and you're pushing the boundaries... then maybe?

What are you supposed to do when you can't get in the field, just say **** it so you don't look like a crop insurance farmer? Crop insurance doesn't give a shit about any of their clients just their premium anyway. They made things as difficult as possible for anyone dealing with crop in the spring so they deserve the big wreck coming this fall.
