You get 60 every year just like sf3, low spots always yield good. Nowadays whatever the highest yield the monitor in the combine shows is field avg it seems. Like a friend of my dad's used to say.....sure his wheat went 60, but he will only haul 35 to the elevator!

Oh and I forgot to add that these guys that are banking on 45+ canola and 60+ wheat along with other numbers in that ballpark for other crops every year are walking a tightrope. But then again I'm also from "the slum of the ghetto" so what do I know.

The odd sand spot and white eroded hills bring down the average pretty fast. Last years yield on our farm was an anomaly. I realize we are growing better crops than two decades ago but I think it will be a long time before I see another like last year's crop, if ever, in my liferime again. Something to look forward to and strive for though!

Disced nasty ruts but never cultivated yet. I'll take my chances, as that decision is one I can calculate. Sorry, I really hate to break it to you but you are in bed with the government: every government of the world. The issue is to negotiate with the one we have.

I have 2 immediate neighbors that planted wall to wall canola last year. It was only 2500 acres in total. They did very well.
              They are both near retirement.
I am curious if they will bother to change the settings on the air drill this year.

Happened 3 times in last 45 years, terrible odds, always potential but the RAIN/COLD usually kills it. Only 3 too dry years in same time frame. Farming the sows ear...

Not a fan of wheat either..but not many dollars in bly or oats..
How many yrs in a row for canola?
Trying a 40 acre field for number 3..lots of inputs and the highest rated seed.

Like most everyone else around us, wheat is the cover crop, in the used-to-be breadbasket of the world. 🇨🇦
