June of 96 our yard was hit by a tornado(no one injured)and our youngest daughter to this day hates strong winds with a passion.

I never experienced a tornado but heavy wind had done more damage here than probably anything else.....I know how she feels food4u.

Oh look guys and gals.... Saturday's high of 28 AND winds at 40 gusting to 60! Not on my wish list. But remember what I said about us each needing a bit of a different prescription. Mine doesn't include temps that high and I have allergies to wind speeds over 30 km/h. But I'm sure it's exactly what a lot of you want and need.

Happy seeding, take care and work safe.

As long as it cools down a bit and wind speeds drop by the time I have to open the ground up to plant canola.... can we compromise a bit?

Get that Canola in the ground. I suspect this heat will bring some thunder boomers and germination will be total. Our Lentils and Durum are in. now looking for Canola seed the size of g****fruits, haha. Maybe some day.

The Western Canadian satellite shows some pretty mean action moving West to East. Might be very interesting.
