CCGA's Steve Pratte: Canada's Hopper Car Fleet - The Situation in 5 minutes.

What is the future of Canada's publicly-owned hopper car fleet? What strategic considerations should we be taking and who will be responsible for replacing the cars? CCGA's Steve Pratte explored these questions in his presentation at FarmTech 2017.

Not sure how to respond to that but it is the fact of the matter. People should start thinking, talking and planning 10 years out - not at the final minute. Maybe there are other possibilities no one has thought of yet...

Maybe the millions given to bombardier should have been for an order of hopper cars??? They build LRT cars so these would be simple alongside those. Two birds one stone.....

And much like a labor issue let's just wait for it to become a crisis.

We are producing more....the grain should be clean going out west.....

If an elevator is going to sit plugged for two weeks it may as well be cleaning the next train......

Railcars are an infrastructure. Ask a potash mine how their product moves....

Too bad Brad doesn't understand an incredible opportunity is waiting.

Build new shorter wheelbase cars and increase capacity in the same train length....and he sells it....
