    Stored wheat

Neighbour has 2013 crop wheat in some small steel bins, road in has been under water for most summer months but he could have had it out during winters.
Wonder what the odds are of it being saleable?
Think the longest we stored wheat on our own farm was to second crop year after it was grown and had little spoilage.
If it is out of condition, maybe could be added to the multi billion losses from poor rail service.

Helped a neighbor hauling barley out last winter, said it was Dolly, I commented I didn't think anybody had grown Dolly for 10 years around here. He said that stuff was 12 yrs old. Might surprise you if the bins are tight and floors are good. Lots of older guys will hold on a long time to avoid paying taxes, the rest of us the grain hardly gets cold before the bank account starts grumbling!

Blaming 3 yr old inventory loss on a rr is delusional. No wonder the tax people are looking.

I just remember a famous Auction sale that ran for three days by swift current years ago. The guy had durum in bins stamped 1978 and up. Grain stays if it goes in well into good storage.

We bought a tandem at that sale. Still remember it well.

Yes that was quite a sale. Story was when they emptied the shed of grain their was a pristine JD tractor stored underneath. Could be bullshit , but the amount of stuff that one man could Hoard was unbelievable.

Grains found in pyramids still grew after 3000 years, they made beer too, had honey in jars. Never heard if it was edible.
