American farmers grow beans corn bean corn and get away with it, although their average yield is only 45 bu an acre so maybe they have disease issues. When i first started beans i went aggressive on rotatiins to build up inoculm in the soil. Now im ok with beans every 2 years. Beans on beans on beans, you will start to see root diseases build up, but nothing like u would see in peas and lentils on heavier soils. Actually beans on canola works out very well, as beans dont like excessive cereal straw, canola land nice and black, and warm in the spring.

Same plans as when they were drawn up in November. Always have options open if spring throws us a curveball. No sense in getting our panties in a wad because of what things look like now. At least 6 months until the combines roll.

Around here everyone's hoping the combines will be rolling next month. Very few guys got done here between the mud and snow of last year. Calving, combining, and seeding at the same time.... fun times ahead
