Protein premiums change just the same as the futures or basis. It reflects what the end user is willing to pay for it. I'm sure if your chart went back farther it would show some volatility.
What we really need is the CGC to step in a regulate how graincos pay protein. Should be each individual point instead of certain ones rounding down to the nearest 0.5 or 0. Why should you deliver a 13.9 and only be paid for 13.5.
