Media is the problem, world wide.

When I was young we would watch the supper news and some times the national or ctv. Most trusted and believed all the news stories and it seemed the media had a code of ethics.

When a reported did a bull shit story if it was found out he was ostracized and eventually found a new career.

But today it's so funny how CBC is left wing central. Liberano lane or NDP avenue.

All stories are or have a agenda.

Like some one posted the other day the climate change bull shit scam the media helped and forced it on us. Show same thing day in day out eventually the population starts to believe the drivel and wow you just scared people to believe.

The media is strong and it does effect our lives.

But the funny thing the Internet is not controlled and the media is getting called every day that maybe just maybe they are not telling the truth.

Hey it's happening most see it.

Look chunky and grass can spout on here that green is so good yet eventually people search and find out that it is extrementy costly and when the sun doesn't shine or wind blow you still need back up and it then has huge costs to consumers.

So yes the Internet is changing the world and he media is trying so hard to still do things the old fashion way.

Yes some info is wrong and some is pushing a agenda like the media but again if you search long and hard most people can find the truth.

So yes wars and elections, climate change and organic can be fought through the media.

Will the media adapt and change or will it eventually change.

For some media outlets....When news casts changed from a public service to a profit driven viewership model is probably where all went to hell! Even more in "Capitalistic USA"

Why wouldn't the CBC union shop be biased? Like some other outlets, it's going to depend on their political affiliation.

Is anyone truly unbiased.... I never went to Journalism school so I have no idea if there is a "code of ethics" taught to report only unbiased of personal opinion. Facts, not hearsay. "Coffee shop" reporting. Detracting and embellishing. Second, third and fourth hand information.... it all gets interesting.

There seems to be continuous layoffs at newspapers and tv media.
Could it be that 90% of students attending journalism or political studies degrees are Liberals or socialists and this leads to biased news coverage?

The media seems to be very short of real news. You would think with all the money poured into medical and science research, we could get some real news and proof that some of this research is returning benefits. Instead this morning the news is that Beau Biden's widow is in a relationship with Beau's married brother. Good grief!

Yes libraries and books are dangerous too! They could be spreading information, knowledge and opinions we don't like.

It is best to live in a bubble listening to only one point of view without any real knowledge of the issues. This will really ensure we continue to make good decisions.

              Yep that's you chicly to a T.

You tell us over and over how good green is yet when facts are shown you post pages of useless info.

The media is controlled by big wealthy people and CBC falls over the liberals because they tell them they will fund them some more.

Yea the library is full of bullshit. Really chuck you are getting more out to lunch each day.

Time for a good old fashioned book burning....except now it will be smart phones, ipads and such, lap and desktop computers! Back to the stone age....where you had to do face to face combat to beat your opponent down if you didn't like their attitude and opinion!

                Cave paintings anyone.....

Everyone should consider all sides of every issue but obviously that doesn't happen. Some are content to live in their bubble; some are unaware that they are in a bubble - those are the most annoying ones.

I think the reason those of us on the right side of the spectrum tend to be better informed is because we are constantly bombarded with the left side of every issue. We have to go looking to find a right wing perspective but we are motivated to do so and that makes us better informed, regardless of the issue. Those on the left for the most part are content with the media bombast and aren't inherently motivated to go looking for alternate perspectives. Which makes them less informed on any given issue.

Yup, as you say "some are unaware that they are in a bubble"
                    Irony.

I missed trumps speech but heard it was exceptional, so I tried to watch it online . every f$&King news outlet had a half an hour of bullshit of how bad it was going to be first !!!! I finally watched it on YouTube and even then they posted on the bottom of screen (quite large , I might add) how his approval rate (Gallup poll) was half of that useless president before him , as if anyone in their right mind believes any polls anymore. Anyways .... the trump deniers sure are getting tromped on and sure are looking stupid ? wonder why they don't mention that the stock market is going to crash anymore ????? or that the sky is falling ???

rural media not much bs but opposing views when single desk debate was raging one of our rural weeklys was pro single desk other against.

see the odd post here about cwb nobody really bemoans its loss in Australia what 8 years maybe 10 down the track.
