Is this quake or tremor related? Over full from too much rain or compromised from recent heavy rains?

Too much water from recent rains the overflow spillway cant keep up and dirt behind dam is eroding away.

Yikes....besides seeing how destructive and dangerous torrents of water can be. If it bursts they will also realize how valuable water is... a supply for homes/communities and agriculture.

I thought California's catastophic drought was due to global warming??

Interesting , I have been watching this since last week. They assured the dam would be safe and the spill way would only be damaged .
The overflow started Saturday morning but they were prepared for that .
That was the first time ever though

Read that they will be dropping rocks by helicopter to try to plug the hole. Helicopter must be huge.

It looks like there was a problem with the primary spillway identified in 2013 and they did not fix it. Building windmills, solar panels and a very expensive high speed rail, and not looking after critical infrastructure. A very dramatic example of incompetence from California government. 200,000 people evac now.

Crazy rainfall totals in a very dry mountainous area are leading to some real flash flooding problems.
