We have to love what we do!

Just did some searches on education costs vs salaries, high end grad doctor dept $150,000 avg doctor salary Manitoba $304,000 not bad return on investment (200%) granted 5-7 years of lost earnings while in university.
I would bet most farms/ranches would struggle to gross 40% return on investment.Go figure!

5-7 years? - try 11-13 years for specialists.

It's no secret what they make. But it is pretty easy to overlook what they do for it.
Doctors and especially nurses deserve what they get paid.

I have nothing but respect for the er room nurses and doctors but some of the small town nurses are way overpaid some nursing homes have rn nurses on staff just to hand out pills and they do nothing else for their big cheques. Lpn nurses and the other staff do all the work. My sister works in a nursing home doing house cleaning they do all the shitty work for under 20 bucks an hour while the rn nurses sit around and bitch how under paid they are. The nurses have it figured out so that if one calls in sick it throws the whole schedule off and then people have to be called to cover shifts and get paid overtime and it just snowballs and it takes a while to straighten it out till the next one calls in sick. It is for reasons like this the got tried the lean program

Worshipped gods have ever increasing demands until the Idolater realizes the ransom has got too high!

Something Primary Ag Producers will likely never experience.

Nobody stopped you from pursuing a different profession. Why bring up doctors salaries, if your on some type of mission go after the CEOs of major companies. Besides how do you know what other farmers return of investment is?

Doctors work everyday, no 3 month vacations. They work long hours and on call. This would be like a farmers harvest hours all year round, not just 6 weeks per year.

Primary Ag Production......where the operator is expected to do as many of the jobs themselves because it is a business like no other. Jacks of all trades Master of his own because it won't/can't pay professional salaries for every facet of the business. I guess the romanticized version of Paul Harvey's version of God made a Farmer is supposed to be enough. Ya it's true and feels good but that doesn't pay bills.

Risk.....some people's biggest investment in their job is what's in their lunch bag!

I made my choice...and have done not too bad in spite of myself.

The general public has no idea how true this is. There should be NO RN's in nursing homes at all. Their sick day/ overtime scam is out of control . Most are 2 year diploma nurses anyways not degree nurses. Same training as an lpn. Their union is is the worst union there is . All they have done in the last 6 months is shit on LPN's. I would be embarrassed if i was part of that union. There are lots of good RN's . Wonder why they dont stop this shit thats going on ?

Unions were started to protect the worker, now they control the employer. Guess the two aren't mutually exclusive, eh Canucks?
