You really don't realise that we are in the exclusive 1% in terms of world agricultural do you? You'll never go hungry a day in your life, live with city amenities and commute to your farm in a modern vehicle with air conditioning in summer and heater in winter. Asset multi-millionaire. Flying off to exotic holiday destinations several times a year. Use machinery and technology that could only be dreamt of by previous generations of farmers here let alone anyone in the 3rd world.
Have you any idea what its like to sc**** a living like most of the worlds agrarians do? using hand tools often in areas ravaged by droughts and floods more severe than anything ever experienced on the prairies, in areas of political unrest where your family and farm could be wiped out or displaced overnight.
Only 30% of the world's food is produced by industrial agriculture - the rest by peasant agriculture. Give your head a shake if you really think Canada is a tough place to be a farmer.
