    Fall Fertilizing Question

Honest question. How much of this N will be gone by spring? "Banded" from on the surface to 0.5" deep. Bare urea, wet sandy loam, 8.5C soil temp. 11C right now and forecast says between 6-13C for highs the next 10 days. This is SW Sask where fall fertilizing doesn't happen.

Sorry the pic is so big. Can someone edit/delete it for me, or walk me through it?

That looks bad, too wet here to even cultivate, deeper or go home til spring.
Like your pic size, wish that AD would disappear.

Rigas Karamanos posted this data on Twitter a few days ago. If I remember correctly shallow banded was 1" deep, Deep banded was 2"plus.

Do not see a lot of fall banding in our area, especially anhydrous where there used to be quite a bit.
Scarce research information on banding urea into wet soils as compared to dry.
Latest rain is likely to make ground too wet to do much more.
Anyone know about patent protection on Agrotain nitrogen stabilizer and cost of producing it?

Don't worry about it. You're not going to lose anything before freeze up or over the winter. Your only risk is if it lies underwater in the spring. Under anaerobic conditions you can lose a lot of N in a short time. That's why you see those yellow potholes that dry up but never do well.
