    Carbon Credits

Just wondering if any of the AG Associations that collect levy's from farmers are in the process of supporting a carbon tax credit for zero till producers? This would give us an offset to the increased costs at the very least.

If an acre of notill land can sequester a tonne of carbon....I think it will become profitable to grow grass and bale or graze.

Just waiting for rain.....no pollutants like fertilizer to pay for...

They will never pay a farmer for sequestering.... but they will pay nature conservancy of Canada.

They say fertilizer gives off 1 ton of CO2 for every ton of fertlizer applied. That should screw up and carbon sequestration plan.

Are you sure farmers are actually sequestering more then they are releasing?

I don't think there's any chance the Liberal government will be taking any sequestration into account, because if they did, the opposition and citizenry would very quickly point out that Canada as a whole, with our crops, grass land and forests,,,,,would be a Zero Net contributor of carbon into the atmosphere. So the question then would be, why the concern about our carbon output and why the need to put in place such an economically damaging tax and Liberals would then have to defend that tax. Now,,,they're just using most peoples guilt, that they are bad, and destroying the planet.

I't's not about the carbon, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TAX !

He's on the record as calling it a tax.
