    Flooding south of here

Reports of very heavy rain and flooding south of the river here to Rosetown .
This is from the north side of river looking south
One report of 5 in at one area 25 miles south . Some of that area had over 4 in over the past 4 days already before this .

Drove from Meota to eyebrow, to Stoon then back home today. Went through biggar about 8 and it was raining. That area from north of biggar right to elbow, in my opinion, doesn't have a lentil crop, maybe not even a pea crop. Couldn't believe the mess. Got home and watched a video on Facebook with a guy surfing through a canola crop in the ditch at sovereign. Went by the road. Hired man said his sister has had about 4" at handle over the last 4-5 days. I can't imagine thinking you have a $1000/acre crop end of June, and fk all now. Hope the have crop insurance. Thought the neighbors 1200 acres looked bad way up here, but they look awesome compared to the road trip.

yea it's really the shits . unless you have experienced it you can't understand it . then you have to look at it for the rest of the year. sure hope for those folks it's not as bad as it was here . ended up here there was even several houses that the current crossing the highway took walls right out from wood basements . washed 6" gravel right from under cement pads . you just can't imagine unless you have lived it . good luck to those affected. SGI is coming out with overland flood ins in fall , sure will be appreciated.

The hail adjusters we just got done dealing with mentioned that a fairly large area including Rosetown will have an enormous amount of crop insurance claims due to flooding, disease/rotting and also lot of hail insurance payouts as well.

Haven't been that way myself, just going by what hail insurance companies are saying.

Had 1.3 inches in 40 mins yesterday. 3 miles west of me 2 big storms so over 2 inches of rain. Really wasn't nedded. Ran into a farmer from Byemore the other day in town, he said 13.5 inches of rain in 17 days couldn't imagine it. Seems like there is lots of rain all over. Custom silage guy is coming on Monday might be a challenge.

I didn't need the money and I'd rather be combining in October instead of hunting anyway.

Raining cats and dogs, need a dry week to get on with pre-harvest fun. Sure feel for those who got dumped on. Every cloud is just sagging with water. Cruise on by, pretty please.
