    Some sort of root disease.
    we have 4 main root diseases here take all root rot, cereal cyst nematode, rhizoctonia and root lesion nematode or pratylanchus.

    All can be corrected to a degree with crop rotation and tillage methods.

    See markets this morning or your evening are bumbling along the bottom haven't broken lower

    It's the maggots after the crop is in the bin that concern me the most....

    Don't know if I could have stooped any lower....sorry.

      Wheat stem maggot is just that, a maggot. Some kind of fly lays it's eggs around the flag leaf (I think). It's larvae is a maggot that looks just like normal maggots. You see a white/dead wheat head and dead down to where the maggot is. If you tug just right the wheat stem will come out clean where the maggot is. While annoying I don't think it causes huge economic losses.
