    Beer

In Alberta there has been a bit of a dust up over new beer taxes and grants to Alberta micro Brewers recently. Out of interest I googled how beer prices compare across Canada. A survey done in May 2016 comparing the price of a 24 pack of Molson Canadian caught my eye. In Quebec this 24 pack is 26.99, in Saskatchewan it is 46.49 and in Alberta it is 44.99. Interesting how Quebec has the highest PST but by far the cheapest beer. Are we getting gouged by excessive liquor taxes in the west? Have a good day and enjoy that overpriced beer on your long weekend!

Sask needs to charge that to pay for all those gov't workers, who in most cases have no higher education than a high school diploma, yet make close to $30/hr for putting bottles on shelves and taking a few empties away.

We were in Edmonton last week.Picked 24's of Brewhouse Lite for $26.99, taxes paid..

      Great Canadian Liquor Store..

People from Sask. were loading up the carts..We saved enough to pay for the gas and then some..So the holiday was cheap..

I like buying beer in US. Smile -0 feels real good drinking that cheap beer. Just an aside, in Paris in a confectionery type story on Champs Elysees a six- pack of red wine was like $7.00 CDN.

The Saskatchewan brewed beer will be soon taxed an extra $1.20 per litre in Alberta giving Alberta breweries the advantage. This is why Great Western is outraged.

Illegal under the New West Partnership agreement.....Notley isn't big on rules.

Biglentil.....it would complement our aleady prolific "whine" production.
