    Lodged barley

Does it stand back up? Copeland was heading out at 3' tall and now some fields are 50% flat as a pancake. I think it has to stand back up??

Never seen it stand back up after being flat. The second growth will stand for a while....

I fear second growth will likely start in the lodged spots.

I agree on the second growth. Barley has a issue with standing disease etc.

How long since heading? If seed is filling already, it will have issues coming back up. It can surprise you, but generally will not.

Lodging is exceptionally bad this year, guys may reevaluate their greater than 2bpa seed rate in cereals next year. In my observation in wheat seems like 2bpa seed rate fine while anything more not so much. Also lodge resistant varieties will be hot, hot, hot. Oh and thats why PFRA pushed shelter belts hmm.

You guys that barley will stand up taller and harder than when blind grandpa swallowed all the Viagra thinking they were skittles.
