    Well here's the article:

The Canada Pension Plan has signed an
agreement to acquire the assets of
Assiniboia Farmland LP, a fund that owns
    farmland in Saskatchewan, for $128
million. The deal is expected to close in
    January. Founded in 2005, Assiniboia
owns about 115,000 acres of Saskatchewan
farmland, one of the largest investable
    farmland portfolios in Canada.The land
    mainly produces wheat, barley and
canola. It was only last year that CPP
    launched its agricultural investment
    program, initially targeted at buying
farmland in Canada, the U.S., Australia,
New Zealand and Brazil."“Farmland is an
    attractive asset class that has
    historically delivered stable, risk-
adjusted returns and the global outlook
for agriculture in general is positive
    due to increasing demand for
    agricultural products," CPP's senior
    vice-president of private
investments André Bourbonnais said in a
    statement.The Canada Pension Plan
Investment Board manages $192 billion in
assets that will at some point pay
    benefits for 18 million Canadians.

That's less than 1/1000 of the 192 Billion, drop in the bucket. Why so cheap? Crappy land?

I agree with SF3. My observation is government
steps into projects just as the wave has crested,
and started downward. Usually, taxpayers money
goes that direction as well. Standby, 5 years from
now there will an investigation into this "scandal"

I went out and had a couple beers last night. I didn't realize there was a time warp/bizzarro world effect any more. 2 beers that's it.

Rocking Roddy Flaman is back in the wheat politics as a director of the wheat commission.

And the government is buying land from investors.

Holy shit is all I can say.

Where did you find this info? I was
looking to see if results were posted yet.

I was reading the voter's package last night didn't even know he was involved.

More than likely the left has this sown up.

I don't mind having these guys at the table as long as they add balance and not **** it all up.

I think the returning of ballots was too short.

reckon you guys are 18 months behind austral land peaked in proably early 2011 and has since come back 15 to 20% but has stabalized

and if your wondering why ive added another 1600 acres and my bank manager asked "how much cheaper do you want land to get coupled with low interest rates no brainer" was a eoi 9 put in a bid got notified more money required not from I declined then got notified a few days later I was highest bidder done deal.
$363 per acre a few years ago would have made $480/500
