Kind of makes you smile :)

Caught up with some old friends and my former
employer from Westlock. Seems the one brother
bought himself a new JD 9870 combine last fall.

O ya the catch he's 82 years old with no kids, one
city girl step daughter. Lol Yup traded in the old
    8820 turbo for a 9870 o ya he farms 4 quarters
and his 85 year old brother farms like 6 or 8
quarters which makes it better (farm together) but
the 85 year old already has a 9600 ???? LOL

Can't take it with you, so may as well enjoy it. He
probably has saved/skimped all his life. At his age
and no one really to leave it to, why would he want
another quarter. May as well give it to Deere instead
of the tax man. Could say he is stimulating the US
        economy.

Never had to save much the brothers owned 2 JD
dealerships for 30 years. They own lots of land
just most is rented to the alfalfa plant.

Well, I guess he might as well enjoy it. At that age time isn't on your side.

I have watched many older guys with tons of money use old equipment, die and the next generation enjoys/waste the money.

I feel sorry for the elderly gent. Could
have ended his farming career with a red
                or yellow one! lol

Had a thought maybe someone can take this the wrong way. What if they both drive combine and whoever loads the truck must unload it. Then the combines slow down cause such work to walk to truck and unload truck. OK I am over half way there, and time is going faster it seems. Hope I and everyone can be still able to work at that age not that we have to. Thumbs up to them.
