    Sulfur on wheat

Putting on fertilizer right now. Just wondering if
other people are seeing good responses or not.
We are going to bump it up this year to 10 lbs,
have only been using 5 in the past.

I have heard it helps on durum. Maybe check your micros if you are spending extra anyway.

Soil test were showing low copper last year.
Tissue sameled our spring wheat 2weeks prior to
      heading and showed no deficiency.

Did you ever add potash, it use to make blends cheaper when it was reasonably priced but the results were impressive to the crop.

Putting on 15 lbs of potash. Some guys in the
area putting 35 to 40 lbs of potash and getting
some significant responses. Im not willing to
spend that kind of money yet, but probably sould
try a bit to see how good it really is.

I was thinking about using the micro essential 12-
40-0-10 1%ZN with my seed next year. Don't
really care about the ZN but having that blend all
in one prill seems to be a good combination. It
costs about $3 an acre more then just making
your own blend without ZN. Might not be worth it

I don't see the benefit other than
better dispersal of micros. I've been
applying liquid copper to my seedrow
phosphate to get the same effect. There
is no need to have seed placed Sulphur
or nitrogen due to its mobile nature. I
always apply my sulfur at a 3:1 ratio to
nitrogen on all crops. It helps with
yield on canola and protein on wheat.
I'm also currently adding 10lbs of K on
all crops to maintain levels into cereal
              crop years.
