It's mid. To later August how long till harvest?

desiccated. Hrs 1 to 3 weeks canola 1 to 3 for
swath barley week to 10 days swath combine.

Saw a wheat field today north of Portage la
Prairie - combined and field work complete. I'm
gonna guess winter wheat. Barley across the
road was still a might green. A few miles away
saw another field of wheat that hadn't even
    formed heads yet.
Looked like canola just finishing flowering.

Field of WW could be combined at Clair.
      Canola swathed near Petersen.
Our canola later this week will be close.
Wheat about 10 days to start swathing.
Keep the heat coming to dry up more standing water! Roads are STILL soft like in May!
Last 2 weeks were great for haying in our area. Way more bales than last year.

The lentils were preharvested in early July. Canola is half swathed and may preharvest durum later this week.

And with any luck we hope to start the second spray on the unseeded acres or as the old timers would call it........summerfallow

Started peas on the 6th, started green lentils yesterday. Yellow mustard standing and is waiting patiently till I get there. Early durum very close. All the canola in area has been swathed best looking canola this area has seen, should pay for the seed costs and fert with a little left over.

Mustard if all you have left from a great canola
crop is a little spending money it's not much of a
                  crop.

No there are probably some 45 and 50 plus crop. I have just have a beef with seed companies that turn $12 canola into $ 465 seed

On most years continuous cropping in the palliser triangle the only people making money growing canola are the $465 per bushel seed companies.

This year and last will be the exception

mustard, why do you buy the seed if it is not a good deal. I am sure you could get your hands on the old op varieties for cheap...oh, but then you would not get the returns on the canola you now enjoy

I don't understand why he doesn't grow all wheat and barley. That's where the money is (-:

Oats are a month away, canola 2-4 weeks
from cutting. Wheat green as a lawn,
barley, anywhere from grass green to 2
                            weeks away.

Was down at regina on the weekend. There
is actually wheat that is quite ripe,
canola being cut, etc. But what else is
                            new, we're always weeks behind.
