Time to think about getting ready for spring. We've got about two feet of snow here in Edmonton. Forecast calls for temperatures slightly above freezing. We're going to be at least a week behind normal. What's the rest of the country look like?

Ditto like Freewheat. NEVER looked worse in my 50 years. Like Larry said seeding is a only dream. Snow every day or two and COLD. Totally sick of winter and the f*cking COLD!
It's like Ground Hog day the movie. Everyday the same more snow to blow, over and over and over and over................

Crusher.
I was going to ask the same question.
Fields are 1/3 to 1/2 cleared of snow. Next to no frost over winter, so it is soaking in nicely. Would like a minus night, and a 2 degree day for all the days of March. Really looks like what a three inch rain would look. Expecting few water holes out of it. Exposed winter wheat appears like it grew all winter, and is ready to jump.

Pretty wet in the bottom of them ditches the trackhoe is cleaning even water running already. Not sure they might have gotten filled back in with this last snow and wind. Would really like to get into the field early may as I am still not a crop insurance farmer but debatable.

Had three feet on the level in the south west but starting to bust up nicely. Gophers running fast and furious. Looks like we will be 2 weeks behind normal which will put us in the field by the middle of next month. Very wet but land drains well here where it is normally on the dry side rather than the wet side. Every farmer in the area complaining how difficult it is to move grain right now on soft roads and swampy yards.

Highwayman, we saw the land SW of Kyle last summer, perfect slope and drainage. Too bad our double normal precip can't happen there, would run off no problem.
Here the channels are too flat and over grown to move the water, and wow will there be water if it melts fast.
Unfortunately it better melt dam soon, don't give a sh*t if it is fast.
