    Strike three - we're out!

Looks like we missed out again and heat is building in the forecast. Some very tough decisions need to be made shortly. I am thinking spray out the most drought affected feilds now and save the fert for next year? But then some grain/oilseeds have been priced in with no act of god.

The area that looks to be in the most trouble along with us runs from N.B'ford to St. Whalburg to Meadow Lake to P.A. down to about Radison and back over to south of Battleford. Some very spotty areas in this big triangle are o.k. for now, but the majority will be/are "fubared". The driest area seems to be East - north east of N.B. almost zero rain and no april snow - Early wheat heading at 4-6". All pasture and hay crops are shot within the area above. BTW, the area above conatians almost 4 mill acres of Canola.

Its dry in that area all the way to Hudson Bay.
Isn't it the Heart of Saskatchewan Canola Belt. You bet but wait Swift Current Canola will save us all according to the Sask Canola Growers Association.
Were dryer than usual to and July is Around the Corner.
It rained in Weyburn to Grenfell yesterday then hit the valley and changed direction.
            Hope it rains bud.

Read up on the Palliser Triangle and perhaps understand why one should not depend on grain farming as a viable source of income.

Other than that, I certainly emphasize with you. It did look like a promising year with good market prices to look forward to.

We went through three years of severe drough and it can really sap initiative and one's determination to carry on.

I thought pallisers triangle ended further south than meadow lake?
I am sorry to hear about your crops, regardless of how you want to sell I feel the pain when you dont have anything to sell (even without contracts to be bought out. Ouch)

Yes I know Will the palliser triangle theroy well. It generallry hangs along the Alberta/Sask border in the southern third. It is also called the Rocky Mountain Shadow. And yes when certain jet streams occur it does move north, so here we are on the edge of the palliser triangle. I just wish it would f*** off right about now.
I am not wet behind the ears like you think, although SCREW THE CWB!
