    Inflation

The next big thing might well be inflation with double digit interest rates. Anyone care to speculate on interest rates in one year. My guess is 10 %. Cotton, are you up for a guess?

totally impossible. That would mean 3 basis point increases at every fed meeting. They are talking another drop yet before some possible increases. Have to get the 80's out of your mind. we live in an international market place where you can borrow around the world. We may never see 10% ever again. More chance of that then in one year.

We already have double digit inflation,we SHOULD have higher interest rates but......

The economy cant handle higher rates so my long term bet is down, with the odd small increase,to make things look good.

Okay it's different this time. No runaway inflation . The fed has its eyes closed as the dollar tanks. Can't raise rates till after the election, but it won't be pretty. The brown stuff will hit the fan after the new president is sworn in. The U.S. is printing money faster than at any time in history. The 80's will look like the good old days. The longer they postpone raising rates the worse it will be. Timeline might be longer but it is coming.
