Why the City Of Regina is Screwing Up Farm Progress Show and Will lose the Event due to Idiots who think they know Better!

I live in the city and the City has problems. Maybe its still the NDP mentality or just a bunch of Idiots that run the City and Exhibition association.
Exhibitors pay really good fees to the exhibition association to be at the show.
Compared to Brandon Ag days with no entrance fee what we pay as visitors to the show is also so stupid its not fun. I am surprised some one on the exhibition board hasn't thought why not also charge to park.
Lots of people I know that have been working for years at booths or own companies that attend say the City is also to blame.
You pay huge fee to be there then the city charge you to have a police escort to the event and out of the event because a auger going down the ring road needs help.
Then there is the Regina Exhibition workers who most have the Brain power of a grade two student. F$%K ME there should be a book written by some of these guys "How to kill a show in three simple steps".
Regina your Airport is F$%Ked also because Idiots run the show. Saskatoon still has flights the flights to USA they are always well used. Oh the real problem is the Regina Airport authority. Regina international airport needs a name change maybe something like Yorkton's. But that's for another day!
All I am saysing is the rumblings that I heard from Exhibitors I think this could very well be the death of Farm Progress Show. To bad greedy people cant see that you just cant take take take you have to also give a little back. Oh wait that is like a NDP take from the ones with companies and give nothing back in return.
It will be sad to see it go and the headline will be we don't know why exhibitors quit coming. F$%King Morons.

I attended on Thursday and went to the Sask Pulse Growers Appreciation dinner. I walked right in whitout seeing anyone at. booth and parked right behind the Cooperators buildng. The dinner was top-class prime rib, pulse salds, roasted potatoes and veggies, and a dessert bar almost like the Bellagio. Furthermore a bucket of cold beer on each table. My experience with the exhibits and parking worked for me. You are always going to find different perspectives. Its a super show, hope it doesn't get turfed.

I agree it is a super show but lots and lots of Exhibitors are sick and tired of the Bullshit from the Exhibition Association and the City of Regina. Pay pay pay for nothing.

Apparently the bureaucrats have milked this cow as hard as they can and now the cow is dying. Surprise.

This was the smallest show in years Versatile was gone and its the anniversary year. One new shiny painted tractor would have been nice to see in the old paint scheme. But no gone.
Case pulled out years ago gone and not coming back.
Watch as most will say good bye and Regina will ask why.
Run by a bunch of retards. just makes me sick.

Just wanna say - the speakers gave thanks and honour to the pioneers who started the pulse industry off in the late seventies. Bill Copeland, Al Slinkard were mentioned and it took me back right back to 1980 and Bill Farley telling us how great the foundation Laird Lentil seed would be - and it was. It changed our life and the lives of most of our neighbours and friends. Now Saskatchewan is a world leader in research and production of lentils. But in present day agriculture, I have to say Jerome Bechard made the biggest contribution with air seeders. We watched him struggle and live in his shop, using his old Case cultivator to seed, blowing seed through home-made fans. He changed the discer boxes to air tanks in 1960. Its exciting to think of what the next generation will think of.

Being on the manufacturer side and working this show in the past I hope it ends.....so painful setting up and dealing with the exhibition idiots. Charge for everything set up wise and treat you like you are a hassle for being there. Finally AIM added some competition and are decent to deal with hope that becomes the main summer show.

From what I heard New Holland will not be there next year!! At $40 sq ft the price adds up fast. That $15 gate entry is absolutely ridiculous!!!

How does this all compair to the red deer show? I'm hearing kind of the same things about red deer. The exhibition group are a bunch of dick heads.

Manned a new product booth for a company this year. All i can say is too complicated and backwards proscess. Really poor traffic wednesday. Thursday a very good day and friday average
As an exhibitor basically had to be there before 8 am to get a parking spot and to have breakfast on the grounds you had subway that didnt serve coffee and Tims half mile slower than slow line for coffee.
Won't be back if he gets into Agribition this fall(on waiting list). Ag in motion sounds like a better deal maybe there next year.

Arabian Red show gone to Brandon cause Regina ex ass.Would have lost Agribition years ago if Eugene Waylan would not havery put up those 2 new buildings on the grounds.Made Regina the envy of the cattle show circuit. And I know for a fact he had some choices and he picked the Agribition Buildings.
