Two Shot Round Up on Canola

Ok, so who here grows RR canola and doing the two shot program. I like the two shot idea but wondering what application rate everyone is using? We are going to try .4 l/ac (.6 l/acre old rate on the first crack now and will see how dirty the fields get in the next two weeks. Canola currently at cotyledon to early leaf stage. Will go back with at least .4 again maybe more if the field is dirty or bigger weeds. Was always told under 2 shot to not exceed 1.25 l/acre (old rate).

Max 0.5 L but only one pass. Two 0.33 L passes. Any more and yield loss. Monsanto has documented that and we have seen it too. However if WEED hell is happening do what you have to.

FJ, interesting and where does one find that info. Just thinking that .33L would only tickle some weeds and possibly promote resistance? Have done one pass with luck if you can do it at the most opportune time. Hard to do sometimes. Fields seemed clean for the most part at seeding from last fall burnoff except for some low spots but when 90% of the field is clean in the spring and its rr canola. Roll with the two shot. One early and one 10-14 days later.

I'm a fan of 2/3 L first pass very early and a follow up with 1/3L 10 day later. Those are old Litres equivalent.

I'm a fan of talking grams of glyphosate actually. So amongst the confusion of old new and in between at least it would be clear and concise. Always sprayed first pass at 250 grams. Only once needed a second pass at 150 grams to clean up some stragglers.

Do this in case there is a monsoon or a serious breakdown and we don't make it back for a second shot.

We spray .4-.45L on the first shot. If second pass is necessary .33L depending on weed pressure.

216 grams twice , done it for years , keeps right up or outfields invigor . don't think we're losing any yield at all ? that's 25 ac jug of the hc 540 grams/ liter, twice about 2-3 weeks apart
