    Canola seeding rates

How low do you dare go.

Rates of 4.8-5 lbs. seems heavy, we get quite afew plants per square foot then too many spindly plants.
Crop seems it has to compete with itself. We are using a Paralink drill and used to use a flexicoil 5000. We are getting better crop establishment now.

    Happy seeding and work safe.

Lol, belly laugh. New site learning curve issues.

Can't go a season without getting stuck once.

Cat tails sure sign of too wet.

We will finish lentils today and start Canola tomorrow. Everyone is on the downhill stretch. We are going to invite the pope or Justin to bless this crop. Who else would you suggest?

sumdumguy, Mother Nature's blessing or condemnation is the only thing that counts in the end.

And you said it was DRY there! NOT, that canola is seeded too deep farma, also HI Float option required on drill.

You have land in China too?

Seed size under 5 grams per thousand we aim for 10 to 12 plants per sq ft

Big seed like 7 grams or more, 8 to 10 per sq ft

fj, shouldn't have tried to get through that spot. Cocky because we drove through almost everything else! What a difference .78 inch of rain makes...stuck right away ;-)

101.. I understand the proper plants/sq.ft. part but how do you truly get that number? What is the true mortality rate? Using the 1000k formula or try to do an actual physical count of what's on the ground? If the Chinese can have land in Canada
why can't I have some in China?

caseih, I think we cooked alot of seed with our flexicoil(10 inch spacing) using same plane 3 1/2
inch paired row openers with about 230 lbs/ac. of dry fert down each shank.
