Tips using Bourgault 7000 air cart Conveyor

    Hello,
Anyone have some tips on how to get lined up with a semi. Sometimes I get it first try...other times...well not so much. It always seems like a juggling act...slightly too close, slightly too far away.

    Thanks in advance!

When you do it right. Pace it off. Then put a mark on the ground to drive over.

We only have the auger but regardless of what you have the "target" can be small. The auger hopper isn't even always the same distance from the cart depending on the angle of the auger in relation to the cart (depends which tank your filling). You'll get good at it after you do it for a while....then you get to relearn the whole thing over next year ;-)

Have got it down to a science with my 60 ft drill I drive from the front past the drill at the same angle and distance every time and stop at the same place using the end of the conveyor as my stop guide on my rear corner post. Have only had to re position maybe twice all spring.

I find filling the front compartments the hardest but I use a rope that is the right length. Lay it on the ground and drive over the same spot. Saves frustration of the backing up and going ahead routine several times. Use to eyeball it at several times I had quite the runway packed down.

Might have figured out something that works...
I drive straight to the trucks and then wing up the outer section (76'). I then bring the truck around and put the drivers tire on the outside dual track of the wing section. For the back compartments, I stop just ahead of the jack stand and for the front compartments, I stop at the packet wheels.

It's worked all day beautifully, I haven't had to move the semi once since I figured it out.

                Thanks!

I use a Tri hopper tandem back hopper fills tank 4/3 middle hoppers flex/2/3 front hopper tank 1/flex. Depends on where you have things running. Land the truck once never have to move during filling. 15 min start to finish.

I set the conveyer up on tank 3, lay the broom down on the ground underneath the conveyer, fold the conveyer forward. Using the broom as guide pull the semi along side to put the broom at the back hopper. I can fill the back hopper with phos and urea in the front hopper and the conveyer will move to fill tank 1 without having to move truck.
