Costco Farms

Costco is lending to organic farmers to increase organic food production. Costco sells 6 billion in organic food products. This should help lower food production and increase prices for all ag products.

Nah, somehow conventional ag will find a way to grow more for less. We use Zeller's mantra, "where the lowest price is the law everyday". Oh by the way....were is Zellers today?

Farma, Zellers just was not efficient enough to stay profitable. They have been replaced by the larger more efficient, extremely successful and well regarded WalMart. Their name is in everybodys vocabulary.

It maybe a scam, is there a news link available?

It's not a scam, we have been hearing about this for a while in the industry now... Sounds like primarily for organic fruit and vegetable production to start...

Don't really see the difference from Co's selling (offering deals) on specialty seeds and inputs then offering pre priced premium for specialty crop.

Thinking of specialty canola and Warburton,s etc.

Wmoebis, yes same idea. The mother company is investing in your operation, or giving a break on the production side to secure supply for themselves .

With an 80% failure rate, Costco should be wary.link

I always warn farmers thinking about going organic. Don't do it, there is no money in it .

Never try and never fail. Thats best.
