That's right ....why improve their infrastructure to haul more and make more?

At 650000 tonnes per week and getting the cheerleaders to remove the MRE they can put in a solid movement year of 34 mmt and when we grow a 65 mmt crop the government will try again to write legislation that will ultimately receive a **** off attitude from the railways.

Buying back shares is a very easy and effective way to improve share price or value,

Even better excuse to move the loads onto the public highway system/ taxpayers.

Sure hope the shareholders don't mind paying higher taxes to repair highways that are getting freight that should be on railways.

Not sure why no one takes a wider angle view.

It's all good because people are making money owning railway shares while the province is in the hole fixing highways?

It's not the passenger vehicles ruining the highways. It's the freight that shouldn't be there in the first place.

But what the hell do I know.

Somehow I doubt the shareholders care what the condition of the roads are in Sask,Alta,Man. when alot of them don't live here!

            Nope you are right.

They also don't care that CPs revenue could increase substantially as well as their share price if they increased their freight handling.

They are on a service industry that gas captive shippers that are almost to the point of trucking grain to the coast.

Meanwhile brazil is building a railway. Go figure.
