Couldn't agree with you more fj.....the new drills will be maintenance nightmares. Bushings and hydraulic hoses......
But they do do a good job. Best canola catch we've ever had. Better depth contol in our dirt.

Let's see what the next ten years brings for "advancements".

May not be our problem....kid's headache!

Making payments for new technology, bigger, efficiency, is a easy decision.

We have been saving at least 10 % on overlap for seed, fertilizer. Plus spraying about 6% for all post emergent applications. It adds up very fast and makes the payments.

The new case sprayers have spray accuracy to the square foot, planters, etc it's happening at a very fast pace.

I am sticking with my 5810 drill. Neighbors on both sides have paralink-crops are not better; or worse; combined with both of them.
I think the next leap forward in Great Plains will be seed singulation for all crops. Will it pay? Don't know. Plants like to be the right distance from any plant - weed or crop.

Someday we will realize that we are competing against farmers getting paid 10 bucks a bushel for wheat from the government and othets are using hoes.

That drill being 8 years old already - not bad for just the drill no tank actually. 66 ft is a mid size drill now.

It will definitely pay for Great Plains!

Re big drills, just take the wings off and you have an inexpensive right sized drill with lots of spare parts. Take advantage of the situation.

So have we since 2006 with auto steer. Not making payments on drills, this 5710 is 18 years so how much cost for another 10 years on the 3310? Just hoses, openers and tires here.

flip. same here kept my last flexicoil for 17 years.
Bought a new one.Simple and bulletproof.
I think you'd better have a Good storage shed for ALL the hydraulic lines on a Paralink drill.
Mind you the bigger operators who buy them usually flip them every couple years, whereas smaller operators keep machines longer
