    Had some things on the go yesterday and missed the cause for wheat getting WHACKED!!! yesterday?

    What news drove it down?

    Poor export Dara in the US and not much freeze damage reported.

            boarder . . . U.S. winter wheat ratings improved to 59% good-to-excellent as compared to 44% last year at this time.

            Also, U.S. weekly wheat exports were actually negative (as reported this morning).

              It'd be great if our check offs went to developing public varieties and bypassed the PBR shit. But that'll never happen. I read that wheat rag too and thought it was quite vague about the specifics of the research being funded. Previous govt really wrecked things getting rid of public breeding. 5 million is a piss in the wind for developing new lines but if we turn it over to the corps we'll pay for it anyway. So if our check offs went to breeding our own wheat lines, even if it cost a bit more, and not to politically charged lobby groups I would gladly support the check off.
