    The article says freight rates are up 42% since 2004.
    Western canada grain freight rates are up 36-37% over the same period.

    CPR is doing a share buy back. Put down $2.748 billion in 2015.

      Article says second golden age for railways is coming to an end.
      Suggests that, in spite of near-universal opposition, further consolidation and merging might be a good thing for rail shippers.
      Says the way things are now there there is little incentive for railways to invest in capital works that benefit shippers.
      U.S. Surface Transportation Board and Canada Transportation Agency both watching with interest, would like to see co-operation between our two country's regulatory agencies.
