The name should be \"Energy Far East Pipeline\"

Three refineries on the line and None of them can refine heavy crude.
    suncor, Valero and Irving Oil
They have would have to spend $300 million to put in a Coker to deal with oil sands bitumen.
None has said they would invest money in their refineries to allow them to.
Irving is spending his money Expanding the TAnker loading facilities..

Sell it as an export oil play , not as helping Eastern Canada needs.( they have long term commitments on US oil and yes Saudi)

But be honest, it's not about Nation building ,it's about exporting bitumen

On the plus side Mustard there is always the Liberal's plan for success. The plan where we all put government subsidized solar panels on the roofs of our houses and then all sit around smoking that legalized pot joking about how we have just saved the planet. Have a good day:-)

Mustard, are you opposed to Alberta and Saskatchewan getting more money for each barrel of oil? (Think I read $17 more for barrel at tide water)

Will the Saskatchewan oil going through this pipeline be used for refineries?

The more Saudi/Islamic dictatorship oil that is replaced with Canadian oil will be an improvement for the world.

In a period of low priced oil the oil sands are very expensive to produce and will be uncompetitive with lower cost sources. This will be true whether the pipeline is functional or not. The marketplace will have a big impact on how much development occurs.

Making an extra $17 per barrel of crude isn't a benefit for the whole country, I would argue provincial and federal governments will collect taxes.

Do equalization payments paid to Quebec and New Brunswick help them "build" their social programs?

Some people appear to be anti-oil.

It sounds like you are against the oil industry in general and this has nothing to do with the market.

When oil is down, this would be the perfect opportunity for building a pipeline and add jobs so we have this in place when oil is over $50 again.

This would result in less GHG emissions for transporting crude.......assuming you care about carbon, GHG, etc.

Than you will agree that oil sales bankroll Quebec's annual equalization payments.
Billions will be added to the Canadian economy per year so this is definitely "nation building".

Unfortunately the Liberals and PM Selfie have chosen to be against any new pipeline projects by adding another layer of process......and have put a moratorium on oil tanker traffic in northern BC.

Here is an example how the oil industry helps "build" budgets in non-oil producing provinces.

Now mustard if it was a Useless NDP plan to move oil out of Saskatchewan and Alberta you would be standing on a soap box proclaiming its the greatest thing since sliced bread.
                        Give it a rest.

But to tell everyone this bullshit that it Will replace the Imported oil is a Ploy to gain Public Support.

The refineries in the east CANT refine heavy oil

Energy East has plan for feeder line to take Bakken light crude to feed into main line at Moosomin.
Would perhaps supply our eastern refineries and get that oil off our railways that run through towns and cities all the way to Atlantic.

How do you know the Baaken oil or oil in Saskatchewan can't be used to replace imported oil?
There is oil in western Canada that can do both, fill the eastern refineries AND be exported for a higher value than land locked oil receives.

Maybe you started yet another ridiculous bullshit thread because your are an environmental kook who is anti-oil.

Another mustard/bullshit example is being opposed to pipelines when you are worried about GHG levels and want carbon taxes.
