I wonder where the mustard, grasses and forage farmers of the world are when these things happen. I guess it's ok when the ndp is the bully. Don't hear a peep from them about me. Ndp spending billions more to run a hydro line 50% farther than it needs to be.

Very similar to what happened in our area of Alberta with the Alta-link powerline. Allegations of spying on citizens involved in community groups opposing the project were later proven in court. Where was Ezra and his crew then? - nowhere to be seen.

Sounds like another disrespectful NDP government not taking rural Manitoba residents concerns seriously.

Sound like Alberta a few months ago with Bill 6?

Hydro is pushing forward many people's land has been expropriated no payments yet, They seem to get more brave the closer they are to civilization .ln this north bush country with no street lights or cell service they tip toe around with hat in hand trying to be invisible.
Today at 11:30 CJOB radio will have a segment on this fiasco .

There should be HUGE payments for transmission lines going over a farmers land.
Not cleaning equipment between fields seems outrageous too.

Why BiPole III is going where it is sounds VERY political as well.
The NDP would prefer to go through farmland instead of bush.

Annual rent payments could be a starting point, instead of a one time lump sum amount.
Too bad we can't make a one time lump sum hydro bill pmt.

Is it true that if they went on the east side they would have to pay every year because they would be crossing reserve land?

I don't think so but then again the NDP will do anything for the native votes.

The east side would be the most cost effective and you would lose the least amount of power/hydro during transmission.

From what I understand the NDP was more concerned about appeasing environmentalists than using the path that would of been in the best interest of farmers and ALL taxpayers in Manitoba.

I have seen it happen here in Sask. that carrying the right card sure influences the crowns routings.

Here is a link to the proposed compensation for the Altalink power line in AB. A "private company" but not really so it is all taxpayer money. Maybe those concerned could show it to MB Hydro to give them an idea of the payment structure you want?
