    Auction Sale Catalogs

Its that time of year...Auction catalogs starting to appear in the mailbox. There are some impressive(from all outward appearances) farms on the block. In some cases, how can you throw that much real estate on the auction block and expect to get a decent price. Nice blocks of land that were put together and would be the envy of many grain Producers.

Cashing in the chips or gone bust? Doesn't matter either way, its for sale!!!

They must not have the internet and can't market very good.

......or did such an outstanding job, decided to quit while they're ahead. Equity coming out of their ass, now where are they going to put the money? It'll take inflation a long time to chew through that pile. Live off the negative growth. Lotto Max prize claim.

No doubt every reason to quit is in the mix, too old, too dead, divorced from partner, cancelled working arrangement, Bank said whoa, nobody wants to farm and just time to CASH in if $$$ are there.
Could be a fear of farming staying in the crapper too long to live through it.
We all can not quit at the same time and flood the market. Could be a beat the rush for the EXIT door.
Sure is a sh*t load of great iron, many better than I enjoy. Good luck to who ever made a decision, there is NO wrong answer, it's right for YOU, turn the page.

"turn the page".... hopefully that isn't the last page in the book! Sure would be nice if there were at least a couple of chapters left before we get to that last page.

If you want to farm or be involved until almost the last page...go for it--your choice.

Farma, not a lot of pages "on average" left at 70. Do the tape measure thing, each inch a year, pick a number you might live up to, then see how much tape measure you have left .

I went to a Globe Theatre play that compared an auction sale to roadkill where magpies pick through the entrails of your llife. I don't think I will have one, thanx.

For those who like going to auctions, Farms.com has a listing of upcoming Auctions (Farm auctions, storage locker, antique, industrial auctions etc).
