Good for SK. The shoe is definitely on the other foot with the NDP wrecking ball to the west. I wonder how these investors think they are going to make money though at $35. Still guys betting on a quick recovery and they will lose their investment as lower for longer will be the order of the day. Oil prices will rise but not by enough to make the Canadian industry profitable in the next 5 yrs.

Wrecking ball had already come through....ND's picking up pieces.....surprised how many jobs are still out there. Many on both sides of the political fence think correction is badly needed...unless you were one of the high paid, gravy train riders.......
They may not be the answer, but they are certainly better than the corruption on the political gravy train.

It's interesting how much money a successful company can blackmail out of the government with that threat.

If just one politician would say to evraz ..." don't let the door hit you on the way out..." and hand them the site cleanup bill the blackmail would end.

Good to see Saskatchewan benefitting from bad policies and a mismanaged government in Alberta.

An example of Saskatchewan benefitting from a reckless next door neighbour, during a time of low commodities chasing away investment by:
Having a royalty review
Imposing a carbon tax
Raising personal Income taxes
Raising corporate income tax rates
Increases size and salaries in government

Well, the corp tax only catches up to Sask...should have been done long ago.
Royalty review, should have been done long ago, no better time, we will know the rules if things do go up.

If a person looks at the period from 2005 to 2009 Alberta collected more royalties from natural gas than oil, a high of over 8 billion in 2005 due to high natural gas prices. The lower prices 2010 onward put around a 4 billion dollar hole in Alberta's revenues per year and the government continued to spend. The little bit I have read about Alberta's royalty regime it looks fair and in Alberta we collect more per barrel than Sakatchewan, our problem has been and is spending!!!
