    New crop canola

    Anyone take advatage of the specialty oil canola contracts at $10/bus? If so, which varieties, IMC, Nexera and/or Millenium varieties?
    My personal feeling is that we will be lucky to see $7.50/bus next fall/winter.

      We did some Millenium.

      Obviously the AFSC crop insurance Revenue protection will be a good risk management strategy...

      THIS program will put serious pressure on the deffered delivery system... few if any Alberta producers who take Crop Insurance will take the extra risk of doing a DDC.

      Basis Contracts for Canola with disaster components are now common... with very reasonable buy-out provisions...
