    Natural Gas crash and burn

N Gas has posted the lowest price on the monthly continuous chart since 1999!
I would think the nitrogen fertilizer companies should take advantage of this and hedge their needs for oh the next 16 years or so.
Maybe then they could shave a few pennies off the price of N fertilizer.

They don't need to use the price of natural gas as an excuse to overcharge for nitrogen fertIilizer like they did in the past....we are more than willing to pay what the market will bear, aka "world prices". Until the time comes when we aren't willing to pay more than the COP will the price of natural gas in the production of nitrogen fertilizer mean much! Until then, NOLA prices adjusted for freight to your back yard is what you will pay.....even though there is a supply produced IN your back yard.

Think Sask Energy will get a brainwave and prebuy future needs? Maybe rates could go down?

No I am thinking selling Sask Energy would be a huge cash grab for this govt so dont be surprised after election that its sold.
Oh and if you think rates will go down when privatised ...think again

Mustard I sure as heck hope he doesn't. Privatize the liquor stores that ship has sailed but not the utilities. It would be political suicide if he did and he knows that. Besides any example of privatized utilities around us has been a mess.

At these NG prices if Eff'n Eh had any serious intent to build N they should be building it. You don't need any world scale efficiencies to make money on the spread between NH3 and NG right now. More likely we'll see another "major announcement" and the sale of a bunch more memberships.
