There is almost zero malt barley in traditional malt states south Australia being one of those.
Test weight is the problem but all other specs are good protein sceenings etc etc and its getting binned as Feed 1 or 2 barley.
Stuff that for a joke a lot of growers have thought our operation includedwe have a few thousand tonne of this "off grade" malt stored, well suprise suprise alloff the sudden the trade think shit we need to get malt barley from somewere even if it not quite up to specs, it is now a valuable commodity.
Gotta love grain buyers and the grain market eh.
Well 16,000 acres down about 9700 to go should be done by xmas 2 40ft combines go go go
Crops will basically come in around average
