Feed and Milling Wheat Prices

Sometimes see complaints that price offered to buy feed wheat is higher than price for some grades of milling wheat. Makes one wonder about the value of Canadian grading and variety regulation system.
Inference is that graincos are ripping us off but why would anyone sell for lower price?
Think reputable buyer would inform seller of choices.

OK. Is the milling price received today for Canadian wheat relative to U.S. product of the same quality? (Converted of course and seems to be better than the last two years...)

Maybe the lack of premium is due to a strong domestic feed market and a poor export milling price.

I'm making soup.... someone with numbers at their finger tips weigh in... Tag out!

Grades and prices can become an issue with crop insurance and agristability, especially with inventory held through year end.
For example, payout may have been made on basis of low milling grade later sold as feed at higher price.
Audits could reveal extra income to growers and recoverable by agencies.
Onus is on growers to be aware and knowledgable of implications.

Did not really think about direction until after first post, appreciate comment on either.
Regarding crop insurance and agristability, stress the importance of knowing the programs.
For those who have the ability and interest, doing work ourselves on submitting info and applications makes us more knowledgable.
Policy may change when new situations come up and communication with administration people at trade shows is time well spent.
Think too many of us neglect risk management in favor of production and more recently on marketing.
