Sorry to hear that freewheat. The weather your farm and family has been living through is cruel to say the least. We have combined December 16th before... Couple quarters of wheat. Not fun but it can happen. You have my full empathy.

That's tough freewheat hope you make out OK.

Out of interest what was the historic annual precipitation for the many years when you had the high producing land and how does that compare with what you've had over the last decade with this wet cycle?

Grass, our average precip from the 30's to the early 90' was a hair short of 19 inches of rain/snow.

It would have been about 14 of rain and 5 inches water equivalent from snow.

Lately it has been double that, just in the summer a couple times, let alone adding in a winter of snow.

For 80 years, the creek in our yard ran ONCE. Spring run off time. The last decade it runs off and on throughout the year, sometimes for weeks at a time.

Freewheat do you have drainage by others exasperating things? Everyone seems to be into landscaping these days.
