Just talked to my sister at Casa Grande, Arizona and premium gas is $1.89/gal there. That works out to .515 imperial gallon here.We are sure getting hosed here but there is no " collusion" between fuel suppliers here.

The premium gas works out to 66 cents a litre CAD with my math. No wonder coop refinery keeps building more storage tanks.

Were getting it in the Ass in Canada all the time. Consumer is stupid and I hate to say it us farmers are just as bad. Why should we pay such a huge price when the rest of the world is paying way less. I don't give a F$%K if it goes to health or highways. Look at our shit show on some highways and also health.
Those farmers that created the Regina refinery. Should of kept it for them selves and their families and would have been multi Billionaires. Instead of Federated Coop.
Check you latest check for dividends. WTF. It should read $60,000.00 or 100,000.00 no the peanuts it is.
Have a good day Rant for the day.

Welcome to Canada, the biggest socialist country in the world. There is a cost to living here, why do you think anybody who has nothing wants to immigrate here? No one starves or freezes to death, a something for nothing Country. Im not arguing the roads are the shits and excise tax should be spent were it was intended. Health care needs an overhaul in a big way. Will it collapse under it's own weight? Welfare, healthcare, pensions, costs of maintaining the infrastructure with ever increasing expenses, subsidized daycare, subsidized senior care, unsustainable. Cradle to the grave socialism on the taxpayer's dime.

There is a reason for the differences.

Farma - only one thing you forgot - the endless black hole where tax money tends to vanish - First Nations - should be ' first' on that list .

Remember when N fertilizer prices were high because of natural gas.....now it's whatever the market will pay.
                        Same as fuel.

Everything consumers buy is what we will bear! Argument for higher in Canada is smaller market less demand/higher costs of business/regulations. I always thought a higher demand increases prices. The reason is ass backwards, but we hear it any way. As for fuel, 58 cents/L CAD was average on a trip neighbor took to Arizona last month. But we have 30 cents more taxes, so 88 cents would be fair. Never seen that this summer.
Not cheap to live in the best country on earth.

                            Sk 3

I disagree with you on the health system here in Canada any day of the week. Two of my immediate family both had cancer treatment in Mb and Sk, with the same excellent service. The tax money to help them get treatment is tax money well spent in my books. Maybe it's not the same if you have a cold or hang nail. Both for serious medical situations it works great!

I read an interesting article, I think on Huffington Post about provincial pension funds. It seems due to the low interest policy, some of them are closing to leverage their funds using risky derivatives to generate the operating capital needed to stay afloat. Wonder where CPP is generating it's funds - not as risky, no doubt. Tongue in cheek!
