I don't think i agree. I'll use britain as an example, the labour gov. virtually strangled the country by letting the unions have their way, maggie thatcher handcuffed the unions allowing the country to breathe again and for her contribution she got booted out. ( very condensed version ) Your study doesn't come to any clear conclusion, anybody can read whatever they want into it.

agreed forage farmer, that is why I said "leaning" as most on this forum consider liberals and democrats leftists regardless if they are or not.
Stone picker, again, I have to tell you to go back and read my first post. Krugman makes this argument about US politics and I found his assertion also held true in Canadian politics. Those are the only two countries I am making this claim about.
Furthermore, I would not even consider basing this argument over one leader of either party as you try to do with Britain. Krugman found this trend held since the second world war. I went back to the 1920's until now in Canada.
