The pressure reading in the eye is now 879mb. There have only been a couple of other hurricanes with lower pressure in history and they were in the western north pacific. There has never been a hurricane of this strength to hit the Americas. But pressure is still dropping while over the ocean. It is very possible it will be the strongest hurricane ever anywhere.
